Annual Review Workshop of Farmer FIRST Programme

The Annual Review Worshop of Farmer FIRST Programme of ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, Umiam was conducted today the 31st October, 2023 to review the Annual activities of the FFP centres during 2022-23. It was attended by Dr. Uttam Singh (PI, FFP) and Anirudha Roy (Co-PI, FFP) of ICAR RC, Umiam along with Prof. Th. Renuka Devi (Co-PI, FFP) from CAU, Imphal. The workshop started with a welcome address by Dr. A.K. Singha, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer FFP, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, Umiam followed by the presidential address by Dr. A.K. Mohanty, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, Umiam. The Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, Umiam in his remarks stressed upon the importance of Farmer FIRST programme for establishing a sustainable livelihood system in the farming sector and urged upon the impact assessment study of the technological intervention under the FFP project. During the review meeting there was a presentation of Annual and Quarterly progress report given by ICAR RC NEH, Umiam and Central Agricultural University, Imphal. It was suggested by the scientists of ATARI, Umiam to refine the presentations with more scientific observations and graphical expressions. Expressing satisfaction over the work, the Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, said that documentation of the works needs to be strengthened through more research publications, popular articles and policy papers. Lastly vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. R. Bordoloi, Principal Scientist, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, Umiam.
