ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal, organised Krishi Mela-cum-Krishak Sangosthi on Soil Health and Plant Nutrient Management from 27th-29th February 2024 at KVK Surgi, Rajnandgaon district, Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Guest, Shri Santosh Pandey, Member of Parliament, Rajnandgaon, emphasised the importance of organic, natural farming practices and integrated plant nutrient management for enhancing crop productivity and soil health.

The Guest of Honour, Shri. Sanjay Agarwal, District Collector, Rajnandgaon interacted with the farmers on various aspects of livelihood improvement.

10 quintals of seeds of the summer green gram variety Shikha (IPM 410-3) and 150 Hindi books entitled ‘Samagra Krishi, Sammriddha Kisan’ were distributed to the tribal farmers.

50 tribal farmers participated in an On-Farm training at Malpuri village, Rajnandgaon district. The scientific team from IISS Bhopal highlighted the importance of soil health and modern techniques in crop production for enhancing income and livelihood, with the events widely covered in local media.

About 300 tribal farmers attended the Krishi Mela-cum-Krishak Sangosthi.
