A group of 45 students of B. Tech (Biotechnology) along with two faculty members from R. R. Institute of Modern Technology Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh visited at ICAR-CISH Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on July 7, 2023. Scientist-Farmers interaction meeting was organized. Horticultural technologies for ensuring subtropical fruit production were discussed. The role of biotechnology in development of new varieties, regulation of flowering and fruiting behavior, genomics and gene editing in subtropical fruit crops were explained. Banana and papaya sampling production through tissue culture was also diffused. Geospatial technologies were explained in detailed. Role of digital soil mapping for nutritional characteristics of fruit orchards were explained. Importance of water conservation for fruit production was also emphasized. Post harvest processing of fruits for developing value added products were communicated. Students were visited Institute Museum wherein they were explained about Institute Research achievements. Students were also visited fields for ground experience. They were explained about the Arunika, Ambika mango varieties and importance of fruit bagging for quality fruit production. The visit was organized by Dr. Naresh Babu (Principal Scientist), Dr. (Mrs.) Abha Singh (Principal Scientist) and Dr. Tarun Adak (Senior Scientist)
