“ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi organized a two-day camp (8-9, February, 2024) for Agriculture awareness-cum-Beneficiary delivery programme under the SCSP scheme of the Govt of India in collaboration with the winners of Plant Genome Savior Community Award (2020-21) conferred by the Honorable President of India,

the Shree Shree Gyanananda Saraswati Ashram in Dalpur village of Chhatna, distt Bankura, West Bengal. The objective of the SC-SP scheme is to create awareness of more productive agriculture. Dr Anju Mahendru Singh, Head, Division of Germplasm Conservation, Dr Smita Lenka Jain from NBPGR, Shri Madavananda Saraswati, Sh Sourav Dhalla, Block Development Officer, Chhatna, Mr Vidhan Chandra, Additional Director, Chhatna and agricultural experts from KVK, Bankura district participated in the programme and informed the farmers about the various schemes being operated in the state and the center for the benefit of SC farmers. 200 families of SC farmers benefited from this two-day camp. Seeds of high yielding varieties of five vegetables and agricultural implements such as the Wheel hoe, Wheel barrow, Knapsack Sprayer, Battery operated torch etc were distributed and their operation also demonstrated to these farmers.
