In context with World Intellectual Property Day observed annually on 26th April, Agri-Business Incubation Centre (ABIC), CSWRI, Avikanagar organized an official celebration at the campus. The theme of the event for this year was “Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity” to encourage the contribution of women.

The program started with a Welcome note from the honorable Director of the institute, Dr. Arun Kumar who emphasized on the contribution of women in the field of IPR and how to take it forward.

The session was enriched with the valuable knowledge exerted by the prominent speakers Dr. Ngilneii Ralte, Scientist CSWRI, Avikanagar, and Miss Shweta Khurana, Patent attorney, K n S Partners.

Dr. Ngilneii Ralte spoke at length on the topic of “Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity” to explain the push needed for women’s encouragement in the field of IPR while Miss Shweta Khurana threw deep insights on the topic concerning “Women in Science and IP”. She explained in depth the entire process of IPR and the precautions taken before filing IPR. Both the speakers were very knowledgeable and spoke at length to encourage women to make significant contributions by being more innovative and creative with an enterprising attitude to conquer the world.

This informative session was attended by all heads of the divisions, along with their scientific staff and technical officers, SRFs, YP-IIs, MSc and Ph.D. students of the institute including the regional station staff.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Vinod Kadam, PI (ABIC) in collaboration with the ITMU team of CSWRI Avikanagar.
