Dr. Arun Kumar Tomar, Director of Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar, Tehsil-Malpura, District-Tonk (Rajasthan), an institute of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, participated in the 95 Foundation and Technology Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research at New Delhi Head Quarter. Dr. Arun Kumar Tomar visited the institute’s stall, Mr. Purushottam ji Rupala, Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Government of India and Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director General, was welcomed with shawl made of sheep’s wool, wool bouquet of the institute. Director of the institute, Honorable Minister Mohday Informed the minister in detail about the institute’s advanced technology and the efforts being made by the institute for sheep-goat and rabbit rearing farmers.
The director informed the minister in detail about the creation of various alternative new-products of sheep’s wool by the institute and told that in the coming times many such unconventional products from sheep’s wool would also be manufactured by the institute. It is being done, so that the farmers of the country can get maximum money by manufacturing various value added products of sheep wool. A patent has been received from the government, which can be used in plant plantation in place of plastic plot sampling bags in future. Wool sampling bags of the institute were also released by the Honorable Minister on the foundation day.
Shri Kailash Chaudhary, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director General of the Council, on the 95th Foundation and Technical Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, etc., explained the work of the Council in detail to all the people present on the occasion of the Foundation Day. Addressed and the need for new research work in agriculture and animal husbandry in the changing climatic environment in future was emphasized.
Also, on the occasion of Technical Day, the director welcomed Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, on behalf of the institute with a shawl made of sheep’s wool, wool bouquet of the institute. In this three-day exhibition Thousands of students, entrepreneurs and farmers discussed various techniques with the scientists of the institute and also praised the products of the institute. For the exhibition, scientists Dr. Arvind Soni, Dr. Vinod Kadam and Dr. Ajit Mahala from Avikanagar Institute were also present at the program in New Delhi along with the Director. Dr. Amarsingh Meena, media in-charge and senior scientist of Avikanagar Institute, gave the information.
