Village adoption team made a diagnostic field visit to Adopted village, Kothapeta on 30.09.2023. Visited cotton and red gram intercropping fields which was seen on 04.07.2023. Cotton is in boll formation stage and getting ready for first picking whereas red gram is in vegetative growth. Due to heavy rains, sucking pests like Jassid, thrips were identified along with that, Tobacco Streak virus symptoms like brick coloured and yellowish leaf spots on new leaves, flower droppings were identified. In order to control the spread of the disease, farmers are advised to spray with Fipronil @ 2ml or Acetamiprid @ 0.2g per liter of water. Further, advised to keep blue sticky traps @ 4 to 5 per acre.
