Under the Crop Diversification Project, organized by the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, under the Directorate of Research, a two-day training program for extension officers was conducted at the Assistant Director, Agriculture Office, Begu, Chittorgarh. In the training program, Project Officer Dr. Hari Singh, while giving information about the project, gave information about the importance of crop diversification and value addition and told how farmers will diversify and market their crops keeping in view the market. Chief guest of the program, Shri Shankar Lal Jat, Deputy Director of Horticulture, Chittorgarh, while addressing the program, explained the importance of value addition in crop diversification and said that value addition will increase the income and employment of farmers. Shri Harikesh Chaudhary, Assistant Director Agriculture Begu Chittorgarh while addressing the trainees said that crop diversification will increase the productivity of the crop, fertility of the land and will also give higher market price. Shri Mukesh Vamar, Joint Director of Horticulture said that horticulture crops have great importance in crop diversification and by adding value to horticulture crops, farmers can get double income and employment. Shri Jogendra Singh, Agriculture Officer, Garden, Chittorgarh, addressed in detail about the techniques of water management in horticultural crops, the diseases occurring in them and their diagnosis. Dr. Buddhi Prakash Meena, Veterinary Officer Begu Chittorgarh addressed in detail on breed improvement and animal husbandry management in animals and explained the importance of government schemes. In the program, Dr. Hansraj Dhakad Agriculture Officer gave detailed information about various schemes of the government in agriculture. Mr. Hemant Kumar Lamba, Mr. Ramji Lal Badsara and Mr. Ekling Singh from the project were present in the program. 40 agricultural supervisors and extension officers participated in the training program.
