A ten day training course on various techniques of painting and making decorative items from scrap materials was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda from 05 July 2024 to 15 July 2024. In this course from different villages Malkana, Gill Patti, Mashana, Jodhpur Romana, Bhagu, Lahri, Jeevan Singh Wala, Bihman Diwana, Chak Atar Singh Wala (Bathinda) and Jatana Kalan, Kalipur, Jhanda Kalan Samagh, Bihniwal (District Mansa). and 26 women from Sri Muktsar Sahib) participated.

On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the course, Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sidhu Deputy Director (Training) KVK Bathinda welcomed the trainees and encouraged the young girls/women to participate in such courses stating the need of the hour for vocational training courses. Course Coordinator Jaswinder Kaur Brar, Associate Professor (Home Science) gave the ladies information about various painting techniques and also about proper use of surplus materials. Learners Dr. Prepared his articles by doing different types of painting- free hand painting, block painting, stencil painting, foil painting, pot-painting, glass painting etc. with the help of Brar. At the closing ceremony of the training course, Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sidhu encouraged the women to take up the training for this course as a profession so that they can contribute to their family income. On this occasion, an exhibition of goods made by the students was also organized.
