On the year of International Year of Millets, 2023, a millet awareness programme was conducted under the SCSP programme on 8th June, 2023 in Juna Village, Bali tehsil. A total of 25 farmers participated in the awareness programme. Dr. Keerthika A, Scientist (Agroforestry) and Dr.Kamla K Choudhary, Scientist (Soil science) addressed the participants and explained the importance of the inclusion of millets in daily diet and their nutritional properties. After the interaction, 15 sewing machines were distributed to village women and a demo session was also conducted on the functioning of sewing machines. The village women’s expressed their happiness on receiving the sewing machines and assured to improve their daily livelihood status in addition to regular farm activities. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Sh.Mahendra singh Sonigra, Technical officer (T5).
