ICAR-National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (NBAIR), Bengaluru conducted SCSP program at Paruvatha halli village, Pennagram Taluk and TSP program at Bothakadu village tribal farmers in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), TNAU, Papparapatti, Dharmapuri district Tamil Nadu on 23rd March 2023. During the program, ICAR-NBAIR Director Dr. S. N. Sushil participated as chief guest of this program and distributed Solar light traps, battery operated sprayers, honey bee boxes, Mango and coconut seedlings, vermicompost, biopesticides like Metarhizium anisopliae, Beauveria bassiana, Bacillus spp. to the SC farmers and tribal farmers for upliftment of their livelihood. He also provided vegetables and green leafy vegetables seeds to all the SC and ST farmers for growing and establishment of Nutrigarden in their villages to get essential and healthy nutrient vegetables to them. During his speech, he told about the importance of biopesticides, benefits of honey bees and importance of nutrient of millets and vegetables. Dr. M.A. Vennila, Program Coordinator, KVK, TNAU, Papparapatti gave welcome address and coordinated all the SC and ST farmers. Dr. A. Kandan, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NBAIR and Nodal officer for this program briefed about the importance of biopesticides and benefits of organic vegetables to the farmers. Dr. M. Sampath Kumar Scientist, ICAR-NBAIR, participated in this program told about the importance of macrobials in pest management. Drs. D. Rajabaskar, M. Deivamani gave brief lecture about IPM of pests and diseases management to the SC and tribal farmers during this program.
