The entire world started observing and celebrating International Day of Yoga with the appeal of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and upon declaration of 21st June as an International Day of Yoga by the United Nation General Assembly in December 2014.

ICAR CCARI Goa has, very enthusiastically, celebrated International Day of Yoga – 2023 (IDY) in the Institute. On this occasion, Ms. Reetu Chauhan, a well-known Yoga and Meditation expert of ‘Breathe Well-being’ mentored the session through online mode. She has demonstrated all the micro-exercises for warming up and the various Asanas of the Yoga with special emphasis on Surya Namaskar for the whole body exercise to harness the true benefits of this ancient and most acclaimed yoga form. The session was followed by the Pranayam, the breathing techniques, and the meditation for few minutes to concentrate on one’s self inner peace and conscious.

The Director, Dr. Parveen Kumar, shared his own experiences about health benefits of regular yoga practice and urged everyone to practice yoga in day to day life. About 50 staff members/project staff/family members of staff joined the session and performed all the activities during the Yoga session. Shri Vinod Ubarhande, Farm Superintendent and Coordinator (IDY) coordinated the celebration of the International Day of Yoga 2023 with the technical support of Shri Vishwajeet Prajapati, Technical Officer (Computer).
