On the coming 15th to 16th June 2024, “Bihar Amotsav-2024” will be organized jointly by Bihar Agricultural University Sabour and Agriculture Department, Government of Bihar at Raj Bhavan Patna. On this occasion, the poster and logo of ‘Amotsav-2024’ was unveiled by His Excellency Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan Patna today. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Bihar Agricultural University Dr. D. R. Singh and Director Horticulture Shri Abhishek Kumar were present.
The variety of mangoes found in Bihar will be showcased in the Amotsav program. The motto of the program is “Festival of taste, culture and prosperity”.
It is worth noting that the variety of mangoes is available in abundance in the state of Bihar, but mango producing farmers and most of the people are not aware of it. Therefore, apart from the popular varieties of mango, other vanishing varieties will also be displayed through this program.
The objective of the exhibition is to promote economic development of mango industry as well as entrepreneurship by creating market opportunities for mango producers and agribusinesses. Rural youth will be provided information about investment in mango processing, packaging and export activities to generate self-employment. Organizing Bihar Amotsav 24 will provide a golden opportunity to display various varieties of mango found in Bihar and mango producing farmers/scientists will be able to collect and preserve good varieties.
Fruit producers and related institutions and nurseries from all areas of Bihar state can participate in it.
Any participant can participate in any section in this exhibition. The condition for this is that the item brought for display must be from the participant’s own farm or orchard.
