On the occasion of International Year of Cereals – 2023, a Nutrition Education Program and Nutrition Rally was organized on “Importance of Cereals for Balanced Diet and Prevention of Malnutrition” at Kakwada village of Amirgarh Taluka on 22/02/2023. The program was organized as a joint initiative of Department of Animal Nutrition and Community Science, Dantiwada Agricultural University and Government Arts College, Amirgarh. Dr. Preeti H. Dave, Assistant Professor, Youth Resolution on “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” through Diet-Nutrition – One of the five Best India Initiatives “Fit India” project Nutritional value of grains like millet, kodara, samo, kootki, nachani among adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers An explanation was given on how to use it in the diet to prevent malnutrition. A nutrition rally was also organized in Kakwada village in which an attempt was made to make the villagers aware of the importance of grains by chanting slogans. A large number of village women, girls, college students enthusiastically participated in the program.
