Under the leadership of PAU Ludhiana and ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Attari Zone-1, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ropar conducted a 5-day training course on paddy straw management at village Bangis from 16.9.2024 to 20.9.24. This training was done by the Deputy Director of KVK under the CRM project. Conducted under the leadership of Satbir Singh. He said that the burning of crop residues causes great damage to human and animal health as well as soil health, due to which the fertility of the land decreases to a great extent and it remains unsuitable for agriculture.

Conducted by Dr. Jagmanjot Singh, Assistant Professor (Earth Science), the training covered various aspects of crop residue management.

Dr. Aparna Associate Professor, Dr. Sanjeev Ahuja, and Dr. Ankurdeep Preeti Assistant Professor guided the students on alternative use of paddy waste in their respective fields.

Dr. Satbir advised the farmers who attended this training to use the techniques recommended by the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana to manage the paddy well. Also shared details about plans to conduct follow-up sessions and demonstrations to help farmers effectively implement these techniques.
