Udaipur July 28, 2023 In Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, in order to give concrete shape to the plan for various activities of the International Nutritious Grain Year 2023, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka did the seed planting work in Sri Anna Vatika in the Directorate of Research.
Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, as the chief guest in the program, said that with the aim of increasing awareness and knowledge among farmers, students and citizens, each college, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and research centers of the University But Shri Anna Vatika has been developed and special attention is being paid to the research and promotion of nutritious grains in the university. In Shri Anna Vatika, scientific production management of all the main nutritious grains (millets) from sowing to harvesting and complete information about their nutritional properties has been given. Dr. Arvind Verma, Research Director, told about nutri-cereals that in the cultivation of nutri-cereals, less water is required as compared to other food grains, wheat, rice and Rajasthan is the most coarse grain production in the state. He said that Shree Anna Vatika is an unprecedented effort to teach the students about the production activities of nutritious grain crops in an experimental way.
Dr. Hemlata Sharma, in-charge Indian Sorghum Research Project and co-organizing secretary of this program, informed about the detailed work plan of nutritious grains for the year 2023. Baheti, Director, Directorate of Resident Guidance Dr. Amit Trivedi Regional Director Research Agricultural Research Center Udaipur Dr. Ravikant Sharma, Deputy Director Research and all Heads of Departments and Agriculture graduate students were present.
