The Department of Extension Education at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a plantation drive on July 24, 2024, in Village Beela, Block Pakhowal. Around 25 farmers and farm women participated, united under the theme “Plant a tree today for a better tomorrow.”

Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Head of the Department of Extension Education, emphasized the critical importance of tree plantation for a healthy planet. He noted that while planting trees is straightforward, the real challenge lies in caring for and nurturing the plants.

Dr. Dharminder Singh, Principal Extension Scientist, highlighted that the monsoon season is the ideal time for tree planting. He advocated for planting traditional trees such as seasum, bohr, dhake, neem, jamun, and pipal, which are well-suited to the region’s climate.

Mr. Sukhman, Secretary of the Cooperative Society Beela, praised the society’s efforts to maintain a green environment. Dr. Lakhwinder Kaur, Extension Scientist, concluded the event with a vote of thanks and encouraged the rural community to water the plants daily, as trees contribute to a beautiful and healthy world.
