The PAU-KVK Gurdaspur, under the leadership of Dr. S.S. Aulakh, Associate Director (Training), organized a training programme on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for Basmati in the village of Mastkot on July 15, 2024, in collaboration with NCIPM. The event saw the participation of around 120 farmers.
Dr. Satwinderjit Kaur, Associate Professor (Soil Science), highlighted the importance of balanced fertilization for sustainable crop production.
Dr. Rajinder Singh Bal, District Extension Specialist, delivered an insightful lecture on integrated disease management in paddy and Basmati.
Dr. Anil Khokher, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), discussed weed management in kharif crops and efficient residue management techniques.
Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, Assistant Professor (Plant Protection), provided valuable insights on IPM techniques in paddy and Basmati.
Dr. Mukesh Sehgal, Principal Entomologist, NCIPM, emphasized soil health and non-chemical methods for insect pest management, praising KVK’s efforts for the farming community’s benefit.
Dr. Raghbindra, Entomologist, NCIPM, spoke on sustainable agricultural production.
Dr. S.S. Aulakh concluded the programme with a vote of thanks to the dignitaries and participants. Informative literature on the topics discussed was also distributed among the farmers.
