A Vocational Training Course on “Poultry Husbandry” was conducted from 12th to 20th June, 2024 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib, working under the supervision of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, in which 16 farmers participated.

During the training course Dr. G. P. S. Sethi, Associate Professor (Animal Science), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib, shared technical information about chicken farming in detail, including chicken breeds, hatching chicks, rearing chicks, maintenance of chickens, Construction and furnishing of new sheds, feed preparation, marketing and poultry diseases and their prevention, etc., were included. Dr. Manisha Bhatia, Associate Professor (Plant Science) spoke about the nutritional importance and ways to include eggs and meat in your diet.

During this training course, the trainees were also given a visit to the chicken farm of the progressive farmer in which the progressive farmer shared his experience with everyone.

Addressing the trainees at the end of the training, Dr. Vipan Kumar Rampal Associate Director (Training) congratulated all the trainees for the successful completion of the course and thanked all the trainees for spending their valuable time to make this training a great success. He encouraged the trainees to start their own work and get more profit by taking up ancillary businesses.
