Created awareness about the theme of World Soil Day 2024 is Caring for Soils: Measure, Monitor, Manage. Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy (PC, KVK, Palem) illustrated the importance of soil fertility, balanced fertilization in enhancing crop yields and sustaining soil fertility through soil test based nutrient management. Highlighted the importance of waste management, vermicompost preparation for efficient utilization of the waste. Explained about soil sampling procedure and interpretation of results. Distributed soil health cards to the SC farmers. Mr.K.Ramakrishna, SMS (Crop Production), KVK, Palem, highlighted the importance of soil testing in fertilizer recommendations and explained the benefits of soil health cards In this programme. Sri.T.Vasu, ADA, Nagarkurnool has stressed about waste management opportunities in rural villages. Smt.Narmada, AO, Telkapally has explained soil sampling procedure and interpretation of results. In this programme Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy (PC, KVK, Palem), Mr.K.Ramakrishna (SMS, CP), 81 farmers, 5 staff. A total of 87 participants were participated.
