The Farm Advisory Service Centre, Kapurthala, organised a Water Saving-cum-Plantation Day at the community land of the village Jhal Bibri, block Sultanpur Lodhi, district Kapurthala. About 200 farmers of surrounding villages participated along with local club members who activity planted about 500 social forestry plants.
Dr Pardeep Kumar, Incharge, FASC, shared PAU developed water saving techniques for rice, basmati and maize, and appealed to the farmers to opt for intensive conservation of water and environment through massive planting of seedlings.
Sarpanch Sardar Paramjit Singh, Sardar Jasvir Singh, Sarpanch Bibri and local Panchayati members also inspired farmers to follow resource saving tips of PAU experts. Farmers pledged to conserve water and environmental resources in future.
