A special entrepreneurship development program was organized by the State Council of Science and Technology (UCOST) and the Department of Environmental Sciences in the university. The objective of this program was to motivate students towards business skills and entrepreneurship. The program started with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Acting Vice Chancellor and Dean Community Science Dr. Alka Goyal and other guests present.
Guest speaker Dr. Brij Mohan Sharma suggested to establish the university as an entrepreneurship center, keeping in mind the environment and he inspired the students to become entrepreneurs to provide employment to the local people. Special guest Dr. Manmohan Rawat made the students aware of the functioning of UCOST. He gave information about the science centers being established by UCOST in Uttarakhand. Acting Dean, CBSH Dr. A.K. Gaur appealed to the students in the context of the need of entrepreneurship and environment at present to find solutions to the issues of their daily life by connecting their research with startup. Dr. R.K. Srivastava, Head of the Department of Environmental Science, said that the purpose of the entrepreneurship development program is to develop innovation, self-confidence, and business thinking in students. At the end of the program, successful entrepreneurs shared their experiences with the students. Dr. Shweta Saraswat thanked all the attendees, participants and organizers of the program.
About 80 students including students of DPS, Rudrapur, SM Public School, Rudrapur and University participated in various competitions in the program. In the program, the students who came first in the innovative idea presentation competition for the students were awarded. This program was conducted with the cooperation of Aastha Joshi, Anjali Tiwari, Nishtha Nautiyal, Pariksha, Garvit, Nikita, Bhabya, Tanmay, Shreyansh, Hema, Karan, Jitendra Singh etc.
