Palampur 15 September. A Two days training programme on various aspects of livestock farming concluded at Dr G.C.Negi College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences,, CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University. Dr. D K Vatsa, Vice-Chancellor, after distributing participation certificates to trainees, expressed happiness that majority of the trainees were farm ladies and they gained knowledge about various aspects of livestock farming like housing systems, feeding management, prevention and control of diseases, preparation of milk products, and marketing of the milk production. He lauded the efforts of the scientists for the upliftment of the unprivileged sections of the society. Dr.Ravindra Kumar, Dean, asked trainees to adopt the learning of the training in their farming system to realize maximum gains from the venture. Drs Devesh Thakur and Sanjay Khurana told that the training was meant exclusively for farmers from schedule caste category and 54 female and 2 male trainees from different blocks of Kangra district took part in the training. Various inputs like medicine kit, supplements, cattle feed etc. were also provided free of cost to the trainees. Drs Manoj Sharma and Rakesh Ahuja told that training programmes was sponsored by Indian Agricultural Research institute, New Delhi.
