The Department of Fashion Design and Garment Technology, Community College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), hosted a webinar on “AI Meets Fashion Photography: Redefining Creativity & Style.” The session delved into how artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing fashion photography by enhancing creativity, streamlining workflows, and transforming visual storytelling.
The Resource person Dr. Tulika Sahu, an expert in AI-driven fashion photography and digital media, delivered a talk on the evolution of fashion photography, highlighting the shift from traditional manual techniques to AI-augmented creative processes. Dr. Sahu elaborated on AI’s ability to enhance human creativity, allowing photographers to experiment with previously unattainable styles and effects. She discussed the increasing use of AI-generated models and styling in fashion, citing examples of leading brands that have integrated AI. She also shed light on how AI is being leveraged to predict upcoming fashion trends and personalize consumer experiences.
In his welcome address Dr. Mohd Yunus Khan, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering Section, AMU, highlighted the growing influence of AI in creative industries and encouraged students to embrace technological advancements. Dr. Sheeba Kamal, Course Coordinator, then introduced the theme, emphasizing the intersection of technology and women’s empowerment in creative fields.
Prof. Azhar Jameel, Principal of University Polytechnic and Nodal Officer of Community College, highlighted the significance of the webinar, stating that AI is not merely enhancing but redefining creativity in fashion photography. He urged students and faculty to actively engage with emerging technologies to stay ahead in the evolving industry.
Ms. Syed Farha, Faculty member of Fashion Design and Garment Technology, Community College, coordinated the session and introduced the resource person.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Miss Nimra Khan, Faculty, Fashion Design and Garment Technology, Community College. The webinar was conducted by Alina Choudhry, a student of Fashion Design and Garment Technology.
