Exposure visits and distribution of inputs to tribal farmer under the Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) on September 5, 2026

Following registration, the farmers attended an interaction meeting with ICAR-IIHR scientists as part of the 60th Institute Foundation Day celebrations. The scientists interacted with the farmers and provided information on various horticultural technologies and practices developed by ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru. Later, the farmers were taken to field visit to demonstration blocks of ICAR-IIHR to brief about the IIHR fruits, vegetables, flowers and medicinal crops varieties and technologies. Dr. Sankar V. and Dr. Anbukanni from the Division of Social Sciences, provided a brief overview of the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (ICAR-IIHR) and its key research activities. Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Division of Flower and Medicinal Crops, educated the farmers about flower and medicinal plant varieties. Dr. Radha T.K., Division of Natural Resources explained about Arka Microbial Consortium and its application. The exposure visit programme was coordinated by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Dr. V. Sankar, Dr. Radha and Dr. Anbukani.

At the end of the programme, various ICAR-IIHR inputs, including Arka seed kits, Arka Microbial Consortium (AMC), vegetable special, and planting materials such as Mango (Arka Suprabhath) and Guava (Arka Kiran), were distributed to the participating farmers.
