Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of AgriBot at https://agri.bot/ (the “Service”). By using the Service or creating an account you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to register, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian if you are younger. By creating an account you confirm that the details you provide are accurate and that you will keep them up to date.

2. The Service

AgriBot is an educational platform for Indian agriculture. We aggregate articles from public government and academic sources, publish a knowledge base, and provide tools such as a crop calendar, scheme directory, soil-health guides, and a pest reference.

The Service is not professional advice. Content on AgriBot is general and may not apply to your specific land, crop, livestock, climate, or situation. Always consult a qualified agronomist, agricultural extension officer, veterinarian, or other licensed professional before acting on anything you read here — especially for decisions involving chemical inputs, pesticides, fertilisers, animal health, or financial planning.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for all activity under your account. Please use one account per person and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts used in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

4. Your content (comments and submissions)

When you post a comment or otherwise submit content to AgriBot, you keep ownership but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, store, and distribute it on the Service so we can run the site. Comments are public — see our Privacy Policy. You agree not to submit content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, harassing, infringing, doxxing, spam, fraudulent, or that contains malware. We may remove content and suspend accounts at our discretion if we believe these rules have been broken.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Service except as our robots.txt allows;
• Use bots or automated tools to abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code;
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
• Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service without prior written permission.

6. Third-party content and links

AgriBot links to and quotes from public government, academic, and institutional sources. The original copyright in those works belongs to the source institutions and is used here under fair-dealing or equivalent provisions. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or policies of external sites you reach through our links.

7. Subscriptions and payments

AgriBot is currently free to use. If we introduce paid subscriptions, billing will be processed by a regulated payment provider on a monthly or annual cycle disclosed at signup. Refund requests will be considered at our discretion within seven days of charge. Applicable taxes are extra. Specific paid-tier terms will be published before any charges occur.

8. Intellectual property

The AgriBot name, logo, original editorial content, code, and overall site design are ours and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own learning and farming activities. All other rights are reserved.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AgriBot, its operators, and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages — including (without limitation) crop loss, livestock loss, yield shortfall, equipment damage, or financial loss — arising from decisions made based on content found on the Service. Where liability cannot legally be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold AgriBot and its operators harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from /account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (content licences, disclaimers, indemnity, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version, and material changes will be highlighted on the site or notified by email where appropriate. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting any legal proceeding the parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution by written notice and discussion for at least 30 days. If unresolved, the courts of Bangalore, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
