The ICAR-IIHR Bengaluru in collaborations organized a capacity building program and input distribution in collaboration with Karnataka State Department of Agriculture (KSDA), Bidar District on 24 September 2026 under SCSP scheme and ATMA scheme, respectively.
The farm women group comprising 48 members from Bidar District, Karnataka attended the programme. During, the program, farm women group visited ICAR-IIHR experimental blocks, technology demonstration blocks, mushroom cultivation unit, fruit crop nurseries and ATIC unit.
Further, farmers were imparted training on aspects covering disease management in horticultural crops, on scope of avocado cultivation in Bidar district, benefits of border crop with maize, pummelo cultivation, medicinal value of Stevia plant and cultivation aspects of flower crops.
Subsequently, Dr.R.Senthil Kumar, Nodal officer (SCSP) and Head, Division of Social Sciences and Training in his remarks sensitized the farmers about SCSP program and distributed the inputs kit (guava seedlings, AMC, Neem soap etc) to all the participants.
The program was oraganized and co-ordinated by Dr.Mahesha B., Senior Scientist (Plant Pathology), Division of Crop Protection, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru.
