ICAR-IIRMR, Bharatpur Signs MoA with M/s KIBBUTZ HYBRID SEEDS LLP, KOTA for Non-Exclusive Licensing of Indian mustard Variety BPM-1825

In a significant step towards strengthening the commercialization and wider dissemination of improved rapeseed–mustard technologies, the ICAR–Indian Institute of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with M/s KIBBUTZ HYBRID SEEDS LLP, KOTA, Rajasthan, a leading seed company, for the non-exclusive licensing of high yielding Indian mustard variety BPM-1825 for seed production and marketing.
The MoA was signed by Dr Vijay Veer Singh, Director, ICAR-IIRMR, Bharatpur, and Mr. Amit Nagar, M/s KIBBUTZ HYBRID SEEDS LLP, KOTA, Rajasthan, on behalf of their respective organizations.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Vijay Veer Singh highlighted the importance of taking promising technologies and improved mustard varieties/hybrids from research laboratories to farmers’ fields through effective public–private partnership (PPP) and technology commercialization mechanisms. He emphasized that wider availability and adoption of high-yielding improved varieties developed by ICAR-IIRMR can contribute to enhancing productivity and strengthening the rapeseed–mustard production system.
M/s KIBBUTZ HYBRID SEEDS LLP, KOTA committed to undertaking ethical production, quality assurance and responsible distribution of seed to ensure that quality seed reaches farmers in a timely and reliable manner.
The collaboration marks an important step in strengthening the research–industry–farmer linkage and translating ICAR-IIRMR’s research innovations into field-level impact for the benefit of farmers and the edible oil sector.
