Training-cum-Input Distribution Programme for SC Families of Tikamgarh District, Madhya Pradesh under ICAR-DAPSC

Under the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Castes (DAPSC), a Training-cum-Input Distribution Programme was successfully organized on 29 April 2026 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh for Scheduled Caste (SC) families from various villages of Tikamgarh district. During the programme, beneficiaries were imparted training on the scientific rearing of backyard poultry, with special emphasis on practical aspects such as feeding, housing, and health care management. The nutritional importance of regular consumption of eggs and chicken meat was also highlighted to improve nutritional security and immunity among rural households. At the conclusion of the programme, 200 temporary night shelters were distributed to 200 identified SC families to support and strengthen backyard poultry rearing activities. The programme was coordinated by Dr. A. Kannan, Principal Scientist, and Dr. Vijay Kumar, Senior Scientist from the Directorate, along with Dr. R. K. Prajapati, Scientist, KVK Tikamgarh. Dr. Kurar, Senior Scientist & Head, along with all scientists from KVK Tikamgarh, representatives of farmer organizations, and village elders, actively participated in the event.
