Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur organized an awareness camp for the students of Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Thalesan on November 07, 2023 under Paddy Stubble Management Awareness Campaign. This camp was organized by Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kheri Dr. Organized under the leadership of Mandeep Singh.
During this awareness program Dr. Mandeep Singh, Associate Director (Training) gave detailed information about the damage caused by burning paddy stubble and the importance of various nutrients present in the stubble. He asked the school students to motivate their parents to plant wheat without setting fire to paddy straw in this awareness campaign.
Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering), Dr. Sunil Kumar gave detailed information about various machines and techniques for handling paddy straw. Assistant Professor (Vegetable Science), Dr. Ravinder Kaur gave information about the importance of a nutritious garden and suggested mushroom cultivation using straw. During this program, the students who won in the speech competition encouraged them to turn the dirty Punjab into a colorful Punjab by promising not to burn the stubble.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra organized an awareness rally to create awareness among students and farmers about the harm caused by burning paddy stubble and also organized speeches, slogan writing, essay writing and painting competitions. In these competitions, students participated more and more and the winning students were also honored by Krishi Vigyan Kendra to encourage them.
Ms. Ravinder Kaur, Punjabi Lecturer conducted the program and at the end of the program the Principal, Mr. Praveen Kumar Manchanda thanked the team of agricultural experts from KVK.
