Hort-Ind Agri-Business Incubation Centre organized 2 days Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on Dehydration and Value Addition of Fruits and Vegetables on 3rd & 4th June 2024. A total of 14 participants attended the EDP. Dr. T. Damodaran, Director inaugurated the programme and motivated the participants to develop innovative processed products to address the malnutrition issues and suggested to explore online e-marketing platforms. Dr. Maneesh Mishra, Principal investigator of ABI, enlightened the participants on various Government schemes for startups and FPCs and also highlighted the entrepreneurial opportunities in horticulture sector. Dr. Akath Singh, Head PHM shared his views on dehydration techniques for preservation. Dr. Abha Singh, Principal Scientist PHM provided the insights on basic principles of preservation. Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta, Scientist, PHM provided the hands-on training on Dehydration and Value Addition of Fruits and Vegetables. The participants were provided hands-on training on dehydration of Turmeric, Mushroom, raw mangos, Osmodehydrated mango and litchi Slices, Ripe Mango Powder (Freeze Dried) Mango and Litchi Squash and Aam Panna. About 80% of the participants were interested to converge the knowledge gained into business activity. Participants were inclined towards production of raw mango powder, turmeric powder and squashes. The EDP was concluded by the distribution of the certificates to the participants. The EDP is coordinated by Dr. Manish Mishra, Dr. Dr. Ravi SC Alok Kumar Gupta and Dr. Sharad Verma.
