The Turmeric processing unit, initiated as part of the ‘Value chain in Turmeric’ project implemented by ICAR-KVK-Alappuzha in 10 panchayaths of Mavelikkara and Chengannur blocks of Alappuzha district with funding from NABARD, was inaugurated by Shri. K. Krishnankutty, Hon. Minister for Electricity, Govt. of Kerala in the ‘Karshaka Sabha’ (Farmers’ meet) organized at Chettikulangara on 9th May, 2023. The minister in his address invocated the farmers to increase the production of crops by adopting scientific and innovative practices such as precision farming, micro irrigation etc. so as enhance the net income from Agriculture. The meeting was presided by Adv. U. Prathibha, MLA, Kayamkulam which was attended by about 150 farmers.
