The 95th Foundation Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research was celebrated as Technology Day during 16 to 18 July 2023 at NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi. The Foundation inaugural ceremony was held at Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium, NASC Complex, Pusa New Delhi on 16th July 2023 and was blessed by the online presence of Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister & President of the ICAR Society. The other dignitaries physically present were Shri Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Senior Vice President of the ICAR Society, Shri Kailash Choudhary, Minister for State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Sushree Shobha Karandlaje, Minister for State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary, DARE &DG, ICAR and Shri. Sanjay Garg, AS(D) & Secretary, ICAR. Onb the occasion several publications were released, Technology Certificate/Distribution of Hackathon 3.0 Winners Certificates/ signing of MoUs took place.
During the period 16-18 July 2023, technology displays and several concurrent industry-institute interactions were organized. DCR, Puttur participated in the ICAR Foundation Day / Technology Day celebrations and was represented by Dr. J.D. Adiga, Director; Dr. Shamsudheen M, Senior Scientist (Soil Science) and Dr. Manjesh. G.N., Scientist (SPM&AP). Various value-added products prepared out of cashew apple was exhibited which included cashew apple crisp, cashew apple pomace powder cookies and cashew apple fruit bar. The newly released varieties such as Nethra Jumbo-1 and Nethra Ubhaya were also on the display. The DCR display was visited by almost all the visitors, and the detailed briefing and popularization of technologies were provided by the DCR staff. The DCR products were appreciated by the visitors. The technology display of DCR was visited by of Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister; Dr. Himanshu Pathak, DG, ICAR, DDGs, ADGs, Directors, several ICAR scientists and officials, farmers, students, entrepreneurs and industrialists. During the programme, the DCR activities were also displayed to the visitors through posters and videos. A media briefing was made to the DD Kisan channel by Dr. J.D. Adiga, Director, DCR, Puttur. DCR, Puttur also received one Technology certificate (No. ICAR-HS-DCR-Product-2023-021) for the value-added product, Cashew apple crisp.
