A Self-sponsored training programme on “Technological updates in broiler rabbit production” was organized by Southern Regional Research Centre, Mannavanur from 14.06.2023 to 16.06.2023. This training is fifth of a series of trainings organized by SRRC to disseminate the broiler rabbit production technology to farmers since 2022 and first one for the year 2023-24. Eleven broiler rabbit rearing farmers from Villupuram, Cuddalore, Namakkal, Erode, Krishnagiri, and Tenkasi districts of Tamil Nadu participated in this training and among them two were women. Mr. James, Branch manager, Punjab National Bank, Mannavanur was the guest of honor for the inaugural event on 14.06.2023. All essential practical aspects of broiler rabbitry including scientific feeding, nutrition, housing, breeding, and healthcare were delivered in theory and practical formats. Queries posed by farmers on various issues and marketing were addressed during interactive sessions with scientists and officers of SRRC. Dr.Pachaiyappan K coordinated the training programme and Dr.G.Nagarajan, Principal Scientist, Dr. S. Jegaveera Pandian, Senior Scientist, Mr.G.Murali, STO and Mr.K. Ganesan handled the practical sessions at Rabbit unit. Dr.P.Thirumurugan, Principal Scientist & OIC, SRRC chaired the valediction and interactive session on 16.06.2023 and gave away the certificate of participation to the trainees.
