Today, the poultry unit was inaugurated by Dr. D.R. Singh, Vice Chancellor of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour. In this poultry unit, Skylark Bova breed of chicken is being reared which lays 300 eggs in a year. The capacity of this sophisticated poultry unit will be 5000 eggs per day, due to which the academic, non-academic staff and students living in the university campus will be able to get eggs every day.

The main objective of setting up this unit is to make agriculture and graduate students self-employed by becoming entrepreneurs in poultry farming, as well as to make young men entrepreneurs. It is known that the storage capacity of a hen’s egg is only 7 days at 10 degrees centigrade. This egg will be of high quality along with nutrients.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the Director, Seed and Field, Dr. Fiza Ahmed and Principal Dr. S.N. Rai of the University and gave guidelines to provide eggs to the students as per demand.
