Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroa, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized an awareness camp for the students of Government High Smart School, Alachaur on November 4, 2024 as part of its campaign on paddy straw management.
During this camp, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroa, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar shed light on the services provided by Krishi Vigyan Kendra to farmers. He also explained in detail about the damage caused by burning of paddy straw and the importance of various elements present in the straw. He also motivated the school students to play an important role in this awareness campaign.
Dr. Kirandeep, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) gave detailed information about various techniques for managing paddy straw.
On this occasion, Krishi Vigyan Kendra also organized speech and painting competitions to create awareness among the students about the harm caused by burning paddy stubble. Various competitions were held under the supervision of Krishi Vigyan Kendra scientists – Dr. Aarti Verma, Assistant Professor (Vegetable Science), Mrs. Renu Bala, Demonstrator (Home Science) and school staff. Students participated in these competitions with great enthusiasm and the guests also honored the winning students to encourage them.
At the end of the program, the school in-charge, Mrs. Sukhwant Kaur, computer teacher, thanked the experts and assured full support for this campaign.
