Krishi Science Center of Punjab Agricultural University, Sangrur by Dr. Under the able guidance of Mandeep Singh, Associate Director (Training), progressive farmers. Sukhpal Singh, village Dhandyal, district Sangrur organized a field day on direct sowing paddy. In which about 40 farmers participated.

On this occasion Dr. Sunil Kumar, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering), gave information about the vocational trainings conducted by KVK, Sangrur for farmers and the services provided to farmers in KVK. Meanwhile, he praised the farmers who adopted direct sowing of paddy and shared his views about the advantages of direct sowing of paddy. He also encouraged the farmers not to burn the paddy stubble and mix it in the field itself through different techniques.

Dr. Rukinder Preet Singh Dhaliwal, Assistant Professor (Crop Science) highlighted the recommendations made by the University on weeding and irrigation management in direct sowing paddy. Along with this, he shared information about prevention and symptoms of diseases and insects in paddy and basmati.

Progressive farmer Sharing experiences, Sukhpal Singh explained how direct seeding of Basmati varieties can reduce the cost of chemicals used to control diseases and insects and also produce export-grade Basmati. Profits can be earned.

Finally, all the farmers who attended the program were thanked and the direct sowing exhibition was inspected.
