PAU – Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala organized a five-day training course on processing of fruits, vegetables and soybeans from 20.11.2024 to 26.11.2024. 30 farmer men and women from different villages like Banera Khurd, Skohan, Gaunspur, Kalyan, Jindalpur etc. participated in this training course.

Training Course Coordinator Dr. Rajni Goyal, Professor (Food Science) imparted training on processing, packing and labeling of fruits, vegetables and soybeans. During the course, the trainees learnt the method of preparing various marmalades, candies, jams, RTCs, squash, soybean milk, paneer etc. with their own hands.

Forward farmer S. Narinder Singh, village Dittupur shared his views with the trainees and encouraged them to work hard.

Dr. Gurupdesh Kaur, Professor (Home Science), KVK, Patiala informed the trainees about the nutritional importance of fruits and vegetables. Dr. Rachna Singla, Professor (Horticulture) explained about home gardening and cultivation of fruit trees.

Dr. Hardeep Singh Sabikhi, Deputy Director (Training), KVK, Patiala informed the trainees about the activities of KVK and also motivated them to use this course on a commercial level. During this course, the trainees were also taken to visit the processing unit at village Kalyan.

Food Processor Bibi Gurpreet Kaur (KS Agro) shared her success stories with the trainees. All the trainees who participated in the training also purchased the books published by PAU.
