Under the guidance of the Director of Extension Education, PAU, Ludhiana, the PAU-Farm Advisory Service Centre (FASC) in Sangrur organized an awareness camp in Khadial village. The camp saw participation from over 40 farmers and covered topics such as the application of bio-fertilizers in paddy, managing iron and zinc deficiencies, integrated nutrient management in Kharif crops, and techniques for soil and water sampling.

Dr. Ashok Kumar from the Department of Soil Science led the event, emphasizing the importance of using DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) exclusively for Rabi crops, noting the improper use by some farmers for both paddy and wheat. Attendees also learned about the use of mineral mixtures, UMMB, and bypass fat.

PAU literature was distributed, and many farmer queries about issues like foot rot in basmati and weed management in paddy were addressed satisfactorily. The camp’s success was supported by local farmer Mr. Ranjit Singh and others from Khadial village.
