Krishi Vigyan Kendra-Ranga Reddy district, ICAR-CRIDA Parthenium awareness program on 19th August 2022 at KVK, Hayathnagar Research Farm (HRF). KVK staff and students participated in the program. G. Sri Krishna, SMS(Horticulture), KVK explained identification, the spread of parthenium, Harmful effects of weed, Integrated management practices of parthenium viz., Mechanical, cultural, Legal & extension management, chemical methods, use of biological control agents, use of competitive plants like Cassia tora & Tephrocia, management of weed by way of utilization like compost. Dr. D.Sudheer, SMS(Veterinary Science) explained the adverse effects of parthenium on animal health on dairy and small ruminants. Suggested to take up management practices, P.Ramakrishna, Technical officer, Sri D. Sridhar from KVK along with student are actively participated and removed parthenium weeds in fruit crop plantation, residues kept for decomposition.
