A total of 245 people including 100 progressive farmers from Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh, 65 from Sant Kabir Nagar district and 80 from Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh and agricultural officers and input dealers visited the ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur today.
The Institute provided detailed information and training on advanced weed management techniques in various crops, advanced cultivation of Sri Ann, protected agriculture, technical park, agricultural machinery and vermicompost etc.
During the program, the farmers were given detailed information by the officials of National Cooperative Development Corporation, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, making them aware about the major schemes of Government of India for farmers from formation of cooperative societies to agriculture, fisheries, food processing, Gokul and Pashudhan Mission etc. under the theme ‘Prosperity from Cooperation’.
