A 05-day training course for mushroom cultivation was conducted on 02.09.2024 to 06.09.2024 by the team of Krishi Science Center, Pathankot (Ghoh) of Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana under the direction of Director Extension Education. 38 beneficiaries participated in this course. Farmers were given information about the cultivation of different mushrooms in the training course.

Dr. Manu Tyagi, Associate Professor, Horticulture gave basic information to the farmers to take up the production of winter button and Dhingri mushroom. The production cycle of Dhingri mushroom is short (25-30 days) and it can be easily dried which makes these Apart from this, information was also given to the farmers about hot season mushrooms such as milky mushroom. During the course, the farmers were also told about fungal diseases and their prevention, economy of cultivation etc. The farmers were also given information on packaging of mushrooms and some common dishes prepared from mushrooms.

At the end of the training, the farmers were given a visit to the farm of the progressive mushroom producers of the district. On this occasion, Dr. Purva Jaggi, Dr. Seema Sharma and Dr. Puneet Sharma was present.
