An evaluation team from PAU, Ludhiana comprising of Dr GPS Sodhi, Additional Director of Extension Education, Dr PPS Pannu, ADR (NR& PHM) and Dr CS Aulakh, Principal Agronomist, School of Organic farming today on 31.8.2023 visited field of Sh Davinder Singh (trainee of KVK Ropar) of village Bhairon majra, (district Ropar) producing poplar nursery & practising poplar based agroforestry on commercial basis. The farmer has been shortlisted for felicitation during Kisan Mela at PAU. The team had a prolific interaction with the farmer about various aspects of his enterprise and highly appreciated the efforts of the farmer to adopt a diversified enterprise.
Later on the team also visited KVK Ropar farm and monitored different trials, technology park and demonstration units. The team showed keen interest in the dairy, fishery, azolla, agroforestry and horticulture based IFS unit and appreciated the efforts of KVK team. The team also gave valuable feedbacks for auxiliary enhancements.
The team was welcomed by Dr Satbir Singh Deputy Director (Trg) KVK Ropar and units were apprised by Dr Aparna, Associate Prof (ASc), Dr Sanjeev Ahuja Associate Prof (Hort) and Ms Ankurdeep Preety Asstt Prof (Agroforestry) during the visit at KVK farm.
