KVK, Palem organised Three days training programme to Pest Control Operators (PCO’s) on “ Safe and judicious use of the Glyphosate” at KVK, Palem, Bijinepally mandal, Nagarkurnool District from 06.11.2023 to 08.11.2023. As per the instructions of ICAR-ATARI, SMS (PP), KVK, Palem has participated in the “Orientation Training of Master Trainers for Safe and Judicious use of Glyphosate by PCOs” (Batch X) held on 11.10.2023 organized by NIPHM, Hyderabad. KVK, Palem organized Three days training programme to Pest Control Operators (PCO’s) on “ Safe and judicious use of the Glyphosate” from 6th to 8th November, 2023 at KVK, Palem. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP) organized training in hybrid mode in two different batches, an online mode on day -1 and physical mode on day 2 & 3.
During the training the following topics have been covered. 1. Introduction to Glyphosate and its uses. 2. Properties of glyphosate and its available formulations. 3. Toxicity and Environmental Effects of Glyphosate. 4. Doses, calculations and weed control efficiency of glyphosate. 5. Label and Leaflets – Glyphosate. 6. Do’s and Dont’s , safety precautions and application techniques of Glyphosate. In this training programme Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, PC, KVK Palem, Sri. Krishnaiah, Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP), KVK Staff and 58 PCO’s (rural youth and farmers) were participated.
