KVK, Palem conducted a Diagnostic field visit in Rabi crops of Vasanthapur village, Bijinepally Mandal, Nagarkurnool District on 11.12.2023. Diagnostic field visit was conducted by KVK, Palem at Vasanthapur village where maximum area is under Rabi groundnut and maize cultivation. Rabi groundnut sowings were taken up during II FN Sep to I FN Oct with K-6, TAG 24 and the crop is at pod formation stage. The crop is severely damaged by tobacco caterpillar (above ETL), tikka leaf spot (45-50%) and rust (30-35%), suggested to spray chlorantraniliprole (Coragen) @ 60 ml/acre for tobacco caterpillar, Chlorothalonil (Kavach) @ 400g/acre for leaf spot and rust. Maize crop is at tassel initiation stage and observed severe Fall Army Worm (FAW) infestation and suggested to spray with spinetoram (Delegate) @ 100ml/acre. Further, highlighted the best management practices in Rabi crops and weather-based Agro Advisory Services. In this visit Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP), Dr. N. Lavanya, SMS (Agromet) and 6 Farmers were participated.
