PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Fatehgarh Sahib marked 05.06.2024 World Milk Day with an engaging event that brought together around 20 local dairy farmers. The celebration aimed to highlight the critical role of dairy farming in providing quality nutrition and promoting global health.
Dr Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director (Training), inaugurated the event and delivered an insightful overview of the history and significance of dairy farming, emphasizing the theme of World Milk Day. Dr Rampal underscored the importance of milk as an accessible, affordable, and nutrient-dense food that is vital for balanced diets globally.
Dr GPS Sethi, Assistant Professor of Animal Science, provided valuable guidance to the farmers on managing dairy animals during the summer season. He also highlighted various strategies for ensuring Clean Milk Production, stressing the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene and care in dairy farming.
Dr Sethi later thanked all participants for their involvement, contributing to the programmer’s success. As part of the celebration, mineral mixtures were distributed to the attending dairy farmers to support the health of their livestock.
