Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala celebrated World Entrepreneurship Day as the Udayamita Divas in collaboration with Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Career Hub (EICH) unit of Punjabi University, Patiala by organizing an awareness workshop on Entrepreneurship in which 250 rural students of affiliated and constituent colleges participated. Dr. Gurupdesh Kaur, Prof. (Home Science), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala in her keynote address discussed challenges faced in marketing of handicrafts. She motivated students to become self-reliant through value addition in traditional crafts like hand-knitting, weaving, hand-embroidery and dress designing etc.
Dr. Arvind, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University said that youth of our country must explores new opportunities in entrepreneurship and contribute to the development of our motherland.
On this occasion, an exhibition of the ‘Traditional Artifacts of Punjab’ prepared by Swabhimaan Self-help group under the guidance of Mrs. Julie Sharma was also organized. Rural students showed keen interest in versatile uses of Phulkari craft, crochet, and tie & dye articles.
