The inaugural ceremony of one month In-plant training (1st – 30th May, 2023) for 15 nos of B.Tech. Agril. Engineering students of UBKV, West Bengal being organized at ICAR-IISWC, RC, Koraput on “Soil and Water Conservation and Watershed Management”. The inaugural session of the training programme was held on forenoon of 1st May 2023 at research centre. During the inaugural programme, Dr. Hombegowda H.C, Actg. Head of the centre and the Course Director of training progarmme welcomed the students and briefed about the background of course and also summarized the overall training programme. Dr S. M. Vanitha, Sr. Sci (Agril. Econ.), ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Udhagamandalam addressed the students as Chief Guest and emphasized on the importance of soil conservation in maintaining eco-system services on sustainable basis. In his address Dr P.Raja, Pri. Sci. (Soil) advised the participating students to expose themselves to practical aspects and successful models of different soil and water conservations measures in different agro-ecological zones of India. Sh. G.W.Barla (STO) and Sh. Surender Kumar (T-3), coordinating the one month in plant training programme.
