Today on 28.06.2024, the progressive farmer of Nalanda district Mr. Alok Anand, father Mr. Birendra Kumar Sinha, village- Medyi, by the Honorable Chancellor of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur Dr. D. R. Singh and Director of Extension Education, Dr. K. Sohane. Gerbera flower in about one acre and three poly houses under protected cultivation in Block- Bihar Sharif visited the cultivation of rose flower in 2.0 acre area and came across other activities of farmers and encouraged them. At the same time, when we talked to the farmer about the marketing of flowers, the farmer said that we do not have any problem in marketing gerbera flowers, and they have enough rooms to store flowers here.

Farmer Shri Alok Anand said that the net annual income of about 7-8 lakhs is generated from flower cultivation. Apart from this, I have cultivated capsicum in about 6.0 acres, banana variety G-9 in 2.0 acres, which the Vice-Chancellor also observed and worked hard to become a role model for the youth. Dr. Umesh Narayan Umesh, Scientist, Soil Science and Mrs. Kumari Vibha Rani, Scientist, Horticulture of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Harnaut, Nalanda were also present on this occasion.
