On September 11, 2024, a Capacity building programme on Recent Advances in the Management of Kharif Season crops at Telhara village, Ekangarsarai block, Nalanda district, aimed at benefiting SC farmers. The event featured a team of scientists, including Dr Govind Makrana, Dr. Pawan Jeet, Dr. P.K. Sundaram, Dr. Bikash Sarkar, and Shri Monaj Kumar Sinha, Sr. Technical Assistant, who engaged in discussions with local farmers about their current crop production practices. Dr. Makrana, an Agronomist from the institute, provided recommendations for enhancing agricultural production through the use of improved seeds and conservation agriculture techniques. During the program, various agricultural tools and equipment’s were distributed to selected farmers for demonstration purposes. These included 20 water pumps (1 hp), 34 battery-operated sprayers, 25 seed storage bins, one sewing machine, 27 foot sprayers, 25 handpush seeders, and 200 jute bags. Mr. Awdhesh Gupta, Mukhiya of Telhara village, also interacted with the farmers. Approximately 200 farmers participated in the program and benefited from the inputs and suggestions provided by the scientists.
